The last few months have been very challenging times. Unfortunately many of us have experienced sickness, loss of employment, anxieties and sadness of the death of loved ones. It has been a time where we certainly need to hold tight to our faith and look to our Savior for strength, hope and love.
As we begin to enter into our summer months, we know many of you have been looking to the parish for possible openings and updates on events, particularly Vacation Bible School. As directors, we have been having numerous Zoom meetings to discuss VBS options. We have been following the regulations and guidelines set by the CDC, the White House, the Governor and the Archdiocese. Collectively, with much prayer and support, we have all decided that it is in the best interest, safety and well being for all of our VBS community to cancel this summers VBS program. This decision saddens all of us. We hope that you know how deeply all the directors look forward to the planning, preparation and presentation of VBS. It is one major highlight of our year being able to see so many children show their love and devotion to Jesus. We also adore working with our counselors, who are indeed our inspiration, and it saddens us that we need to present yet another disappointing decision to them, especially to our Senior Class of 2020.
With all this said, we are in the works of providing some type of virtual VBS. We don’t know what this will look like yet, but we are brainstorming many wonderful ideas. So we ask that you stay tuned and look forward to some type of opportunity where we can sing, dance, listen and PRAISE Jesus together through technology.
Again, we truly hope you understand this very difficult decision that we made for the safety of all our staff, counselors and campers. Know that we are continually praying for all of you and we love and miss you!
Stay safe. Stay well. Stay strong!
God Bless You,
Patti Keane, Liz Hartigan, Barbara Gallagher, Ed Tyler, and Maureen Lee
