The Sodality of Our Lady at St. Joseph the Worker is a ministry which currently meets monthly, March through December, in the Upper Hall of the old church. Meetings consist of saying the Rosary, an activity or guest speaker, and a general meeting, always accompanied by refreshments. We have an active board, including a prefect, vice-prefect, treasurer, secretary, and other committee chairs. Our annual Spirit of Christmas Crafts & Antiques Fair, held the Saturday before Thanksgiving, is our primary fundraiser. Members also organize a parish Baby Shower, where all donations are collected throughout the month of January and are then given to a local cause, and we are responsible for the public Fatima Rosary Rally, held the Saturday closest to October 13 th each year on the Hanson Town Hall lawn. In addition to gathering additional items to support organizations such as Father Bill’s/MainSpring House, twice yearly we provide a full dinner – including salad, sides, and dessert – as well as serve at MainSpring on the first Monday of both October and May. We always welcome new members and sincerely hope that you will feel called to join us in this celebration of Our Blessed Mother and in doing good works.
Through the generous donations of our parishioners, the Saint Vincent de Paul Conference of Saint Joseph the Worker Parish is able to provide assistance to individuals and families who are experiencing temporary financial hardship. Home visits to those seeking help are made by Conference members---“Vincentians”---to determine how best to serve them. Conference members meet monthly to support our spiritual growth and discuss the work being done to serve our brothers and sisters in Christ. If you are interested in becoming a member of our Conference or would simply like more information, please contact Andy Key (781-293-3621) or Marilyn Shaw (617-688-5079).
MainSpring House Meal-a-Month Program
The St Joseph the Worker family has signed on to do a meal a month at the MainSpring House Shelter in Brockton. This is a great way for us to practice what we preach and help some people less fortunate than ourselves. We have the first Monday of each month. We need 5-6 people for each month to cook and serve, including a team captain, and other people who might like to donate food or money to help defray the costs. The food is purchased by the team, prepared at the shelter, or in advance at someone's home, or the kitchen in Father Sullivan Hall. People can bake cakes or pies in advance as well as cook pasta dishes, or turkeys, etc and simply warm up the food at the shelter. The guidelines are posted below

Mission Statement
St. Joseph the Worker Parish Library aligns itself with the parish mission statement. The Holy Spirit instills in us the wisdom to provide material that will enable parishioners to learn about the Catholic faith. The library will provide non-fiction books and media including CD's and DVD's that will assist in the advancement of the Roman Catholic faith, stimulate growth and ehance the quality of worship. The library works with all ministries to increase education for adults, teenagers and elementary children.
Selection Policy
There are five different entities to the policy: purpose, media content, size, location and funding.
The purpose of the SJTW Library is to carry out the mission of the church by partnering with religious education, RCIA and other groups to expand knowledge of the Roman Catholic church. In order to provide this knowledge, the different materials used are: books(nonfiction, biographies),periodicals, DVD's of the special events of the church and newspapers.
The SJTW library is located in the upper hall of the old church. This library incorporates the second section of the Dewey Decimal system (200-religion), having ten categories). The overall size is a fraction of the public library's religious section. Although there is room for expansion, there is no need for a large area. Initially, the SJTW library was funded by the Community Hall Renovation Committee. The funds were donated by Jack Conway and by the Chase Corporation.
Circulation Procedure
1. Two books can be kept for two weeks
2. When returning material, place in the book drop box. Please do not reshelve books.
3. Sign out notebook is located at the drop box.
